The 30th Lucille Ball Comedy Festival takes place in Jamestown, NY (Chautauqua County) this week beginning tomorrow and running through Sunday. This tribute to the first couple of comedy explores the life stories of both Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz and features original costumes, gowns, props, exact re-creations of the I Love Lucy television studio sets, and More!
It was 111 years ago this week (August 6, 1911) when Lucille Ball was born in Jamestown, the National Comedy Center there has all sorts of events planned. These are various captures of mine—whether it be Lucille Ball Memorial Park in Celoron where one can find this beautiful Lucille Ball statue, or the Lucille Ball Desi Arnaz Museum where you can re-live those magical moments from her trailblazing career—there is lots to do to celebrate the legendary actress’s life and comedy. They’ve got a Stand-up Showcase Wednesday evening featuring by rising talent. Margaret Cho performs Thursday night and Jeff Foxworthy takes the arena stage on Friday evening.
